My "What Not" quilt finished.....(aka Affairs of the Heart)

Well, here I am again with the "What Not" quilt.  The What Not to do with a quilt except finish it.....
It's needleturn applique, beautiful batiks....I started quilting this quilt, oh like 4 or 5 years ago.  I put way to close stitching.  I echoed the quilting abut 1/4" apart, some 1/8" apart.  I got a few squares done and decided, forget this, I will never get this quilt quilted, so I put it up,  Yes, it became a UFO of the worst kind.....in the dark places of a closet.  A friend at work kept saying, when are you going to finish that quilt, and also one of my blog friends Momma T, is finishing her UFO's this year.

Anyway, I pulled the quilt out and started machine quilting that puppy......it looks great, and like I said in my previous post.  Who can tell from 50 yards wasy.....it really is pretty, so glad I finished it.

Vacation stash purchases

Found more fabrics for the Primitive quilt.  Now to downsize the pattern pieces.  It's applique, the blocks are supposed to be 22".  I don't want a 22" block, so I will shrink the pieces for a 16" block. I believe I have enough variety of fabrics.  Even tho the original fabrics suggested for this quilt are out of print, I have been able to buy ones that will work.  And yes, probably have enough to make a couple of them.  I would still like to make one with dark fabric for the background.

my WHAT NOT quilt

This is my "Affairs of the Heart" quilt.  I finished this top, oh yes, all hand applique, about 4 years ago.  Then I started handquilting it, way to much quilting, I got so tired of quilting this I put it up, yes for 4 years.  Today I decided, what the heck, I will never ever get it hand quilted. So I pulled it out of my UFO stack and started free motion quilting.  That is where the "WHAT NOT" name came from
That means "what not to do on a quilt".....lol  by golly it's going to be finished, tho.  And you know from 50 yards no one will ever know..
